Leslie C. Edwards, 57, of Taylorville died on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 6:21 a.m. in Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indianapolis, IN.

He was born on May 19, 1953, in Taylorville, to Leslie Lamoine and Theresa P. (Owens) Edwards. He served as a longtime manager at Clark Gas Station, Taylorville. He graduated Edinburg High School Class of 1971. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of the American Legion in Edinburg.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa P. Thomas of Kincaid; brother, Clete (Michelle) Edwards of Taylorville; sisters: Cindy Edwards of Taylorville and Monica (J. Mark) Lottes of Riviera Beach, FL; nephews, Damon Chamness of Taylorville and James C. Lottes of Riviera Beach, FL; nieces, Michelle C. Lottes of Riviera Beach, Fl, Jillian M. Lottes-Schatzman (husband Zachary) of Crawfordville, FL, Erica J. Edwards and Emily H. Edwards, both of Taylorville; Step-sisters: Becky (Thomas) Perry of Taylorville and Jill (John) Durbin of Kincaid; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Kenneth Thomas; and stepbrother, Leo Thomas.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
