Lewis I. Raymond, 79, of Taylorville, formerly of Pana, died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2006, at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 11, 1927, in Mattoon, the son of Leslie and Sue (Walters) Raymond. He married Louise Hays on September 18, 1948. She preceded him in death on May 11, 2000. Mr. Raymond was an Army veteran and retired from the Air Force as Sr. Master Sergeant. He also retired from IBEW electrical union. He was a member of the VFW.
Surviving are his children: Marcia (husband Dick) Noren of Alaska, Dawn Frost (fiancé Dan Durbin) of Taylorville, Stacy Cook (fiancé John Romeo) of Illinois, Julia Raymond of Taylorville, and Todd (wife Juanita) Raymond of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville. Inurnment will follow at Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua.
