TAYLORVILLE, IL - Lillian Gay Lambert, 76, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at 6:18 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Taylorville, the daughter of Frank Jr. and Harriett Cynthia (Kerns) Wright. She married Cuthbert E. "Bert" Lambert on Sept. 25, 1966, at Taylorville; he preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1993.

Her parents and a son, William Jeffrey Lambert, also preceded her in death.

Lillian was a graduate of Brown's Business College. She worked as a professional secretary for several area businesses throughout her career. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Taylorville and served on the Boy Scout committee, Business and Professional Women where she served on the scholarship committee and the Ansarettes where she currently serves as president and also was a past president.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Ann Lambert of Decatur, Ill.; sons, Ronald Lee (Lynda) Lambert of Harristown, Ill., and Frank Richard Lambert of Taylorville, Ill.; granddaughter, Nicole (Donald) Mallernee; great-grandson, Jaedon Mallernee, all of Decatur, Ill.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or Business and Professional Women Scholarship Fund.
