Linda Sanders

Linda Lou Sanders, 73, of Assumption died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 5:47am in her residence.

She was born on November 22, 1937 in Taylorville to Kenneth and Mildred (Lowrance) Schalk. She married James "Jim" L. Sanders on January 18, 1957 in Taylorville. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2003. She worked at Great Western Popcorn Company, Garwood Seed Company and was a homemaker. She assisted her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Old Stonington Baptist Church, Red Hatters, and was a 4H leader.

She is survived by her children, Todd Sanders of Stonington, Sindy (Larry) Main of Freeport, IL, Melinda (Kevin) Edgington of Milford, OH; 7 grandchildren, Taylor, Tim, and Travis Sanders, McKenzie and Ben Main, and Nathan and T.J. Edgington; brother, Bob Schalk of Taylorville; sister, Sally (Dwight) Bethel of Taylorville, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Teddy Schalk.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 10am in Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Edgington officiating. Burial will be held in Old Stonington Cemetery, Stonington. Visitation will be held in Shfer-Perfetti Funeral Home on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 5-7pm.
