Lora Lucille Varner Giffen, 94, of Litchfield, formerly of Sorento, died at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 , at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11 at 11 a.m. at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento with the Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery at Sorento. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Giffen was born on Aug. 15, 1917, at Sorento, the daughter of Harry and Rosie Ann (Pollard) Ingles. She married Andrew Varner on Aug. 15, 1935 in Reno, and he preceded her in death. She then married Robert Giffen on May 23, 1998, in Sorento, and he also preceded her in death. 

She assisted her husband on the family farm before becoming a home caregiver. She was a member of Sorento Assembly of God Church and Radiant Life Assembly of God Church in Litchfield.

She is survived by a son, Melvin Varner of Litchfield; five grandchildren, Valena Bone, Frank Varner, Annette Poteet, Clint Varner, and Rhonda Gregory; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Varner of Sorento, and Irma Cress of Hillsboro; a brother, Shirley (wife Hazel) Ingles of Bradenton, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lee Varner; sisters Dorothy Enloe and Goldie Saathoff; and brothers, Clifford, Cecil, Francis, Udell, Dean and Donald Ingles.

Memorials may be given to Sorento Assembly of God Church or Radiant Life Assembly of God Church, Litchfield.
