LORRAINE BALSLEY BALES, 73, of Bellevue, Washington formerly of Morrisonville, Illinois passed away Sunday, November 16, 2003 at 8:06 PM at Robbins Wood Pointe in Bellevue, Washington.
She was born February 6, 1930 in Morrisonville, Illinois the daughter of William Philip and Helen D.”Kitchell” Balsley. She married John Bales Jr. On October 9, 1958 in McAllen, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1984. Her parents also preceded her in death.
She was beloved by almost everyone she met, engaging each in humor and cheerfulness. She played piano with her friends in local theater productions and concerts, delighting many German communities with American show tunes. She enjoyed traveling through many different countries experimenting new cultures and passed this love on to her children.
Mrs. Bales was educated in the Morrisonville Public Schools, Illinois Wesleyan College, and graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Music. She worked as an Accountant for various companies before becoming a Budget Analyst for the Department of Defense in Panama, Texas, Germany and Pennsylvania.

Balsley of Monterey, TN, Leland L. (Wife, Eleanor A.) Balsley of Virginia Beach, VA and Ronald D. (Wife, Sandra Lee) Balsley of Pocatello, ID; Sister, Eleanor Patricia Balsley Birsner; Sister In Law, Hazel Bales Cannon of McAllen, TX; Nieces, Jane Birsner Compton, Peggy Birsner Coughlin, Leanna M. Balsley and Rebecca Sloan; Nephews, Philip Balsley, David A. Balsley, Greg Balsley, Robert Balsley and Brandon T. Balsley.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 21, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville, the Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating. Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery, Morrisonville, Illinois.
