Lynnette Ann Stewart

CHAMPAIGN - Lynnette Ann Stewart, 62 of Champaign passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 7:12 AM at her home after a courageous 3 year battle with complications from pancreatic cancer.

She was born on September 2, 1950 at Hillsboro the daughter of Steve and Wilma (Waldo) Vicena. She married J. David Stewart on April 4, 1981 at First United Methodist Church in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her father.

Lynnette was raised in Panama. She was a 1968 graduate of Hillsboro High School and attended Lincoln Land Community College and Eastern Illinois University. While in Springfield she was employed with the law firm of Gillespie, Cadigan & Gillespie, PC as a legal secretary. She enjoyed family genealogical research, travel and outdoor activities such as hiking in national parks and was an avid reader.

Survivors include: her husband of 31 years, J. David Stewart of Champaign, IL; Daughters, Meghan E. Stewart of Auburn, WA and Erin K. Stewart of Champaign, IL; Stepson, Scott (Jessica) Stewart of Penfield, IL; Mother, Wilma Vicena of Panama, IL; Mother in law, Marjorie Hyde of Mattoon, IL; Sister, Sherri (Matt) Mask of Vashon, WA; Sister in law, Cathy (Michael) McMillan of Merced, CA; Nieces Lori McMillan Silva and Kylie McMillan; Nephews, Hunter Mask, Jack Mask and John McMillan.

Memorial Service: 1:30 P.M., Saturday, October 20, 2012 at United Methodist Church, Panama.

Visitation: 12:30-1:30 P.M., Saturday, October 20, 2012 at United Methodist Church, Panama.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to support research by Dr. Andrea Wang-Gillam and Dr. David C. Linehan in the area of pancreatic cancer.
