Margaret Jean Malisia, 75 of Panama, IL passed away Friday, December 29, 2006 at 11 :49 AM at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
She was born July 25, 1931 in Panama the daughter of August and Margaret (Trobaugh) Marak. She married John Malisia on February 5, 1949 in Hillsboro, IL. Preceding her in death were her parents; Brother, John Marak; Granddaughter, Denise Street.
Mrs. Malisia graduated from Panama High School. She was a member of the Panama United Methodist Church, Panama Senior Citizens and VFW Post 6626 Auxiliary in Panama. She was owner of Marge’s Cafe in Panama for several years and enjoyed playing Bingo and Bunko.
Survivors: Husband, John “Mush” Malisia of Panama, IL; Sons, John (wife, Cindy) Malisia of Buffalo Grove, IL, Ron (companion, Marla Parnell) Malisia of Litchfield, IL and Michael (wife, Tammy) Malisia of Panama, IL; Daughter, Cathy Kelley of Springfield, IL; 4 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Edward Marak of Panama, IL; Sisters, Mary Jordan of Taylor Springs, IL and Marlene (husband, Jim) Gad of Panama, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, January 2 at the Panama United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3 at 11 :00 AM at the Panama United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Trover officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Panama.
