Born in: Breese, IL
Resided in: Greenville, IL

Marge Childerson, 86, of Greenville, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at her home, surrounded by loving family. She was born to Erwin John and Margaret Anna (Wolters) Essenpreis, on March 14, 1936, in Breese, IL. She married Roger Milton Childerson, in Breese, on February 9, 1956. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2003.

Marge was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, but the role she loved most was ‘Mom.’  She was most proud of her eight children. She was an amazing cook and could feed 4 or 40 people at the drop of a hat. Her door was always open, and you never left the dinner table hungry. Every Sunday was a family gathering at mom’s house.

She also taught and supervised at the Bond County Head Start in Greenville for over 30 years. She was lovingly referred to as ‘Miss Marge’ by her students and lavished as much love to her ‘kids’ as she did to her own eight children.  She was the premiere example of what motherhood was supposed to be.  Her most valuable possessions in life were her husband, children, grandchildren, and God. Her prayer list was extensive and never failing, as she prayed to St. Jude every night.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Arthur, Ervin, Jim, Sylvester (Smokey), and John Essenpreis, sisters, Estelle (Nooks) Deien, Jane Tracy, Juanita (Nita) Peltes, and Betty Essenpreis, daughter-in-law, Ellen Jeanne (Corning) Childerson, and great grandson, Jackson Rain Kudyba.

She is survived by her children, Kimberlyn (Larry) Langel of Smithboro, IL, Michael T. (Anne Betscher) Childerson of Greenville, IL, Karan L. (Danny Carpenter) Belcher of Greenville, IL, Myra L. (Wayne) Mollett of Greenville, IL, Mark B. Childerson of Greenville, IL, Katherine R. (Tara) Childerson of Edwardsville, IL, Roger E. (Sherry) Childerson of Altamont, IL, Dwight D.
