Marie M. Fassero

Marie M. Fassero, 99, of Taylorville died at 12:05 a.m. Friday, February 29, 2008, in Taylorville Memorial Hospital. 

She was born July 20, 1908, in Negaunee, Michigan, the daughter of Antonio and Angela Brussa Cavallo. She married Dominic S. Fassero. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville, and Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of Navy Mothers, Garden Club and St. Vincent's Auxiliary. 

Surviving are her daughters-in-law: Barbara Crites and Sandy Fassero, both of Taylorville; 15 Grandchildren, including Nick Fassero and Michael Fassero, both of Taylorville, John (wife Bonnie) Fassero of Laguana Hills, CA, Dina (husband Rick) Carr of Chatham and Leslie Mohan of Springfield; Step-grandsons: Eric (wife Alissa) Wolf of Taylorville and David (wife Rachelle) Wolf of Raymond; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Ray and David; sisters: Catherine, Ann and Yolanda; sons: Donald and Stephen; and great-grandson, Ryan. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 3, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville, with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services Monday in the church. Shafer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
