Marilyn A. Pearce

Marilyn Arlene (Reynolds) Pearce, 83, of Taylorville passed away at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 19th, 2016 in her home.
She was born October 2, 1933 in Shelbyville, Il. the daughter of Charles Edwin Reynolds and Dorothy (Hannaman) Reynolds.
She graduated from Taylorville High School with the class of 1951. She married Jarrell Clark (J.C.) Pearce on August 14, 1952 in Taylorville.
Early in her married life in the 1960's she worked as a teller for First Trust Bank in Taylorville. Then in the 1970's she worked in the advertising department at the Breeze Courier in Taylorville before accepting a position with the Illinois Liquor Control Commission in Springfield. In the early 1980's she went to work for the Illinois Attorney General as a payroll accountant where she retired in 2000. She enjoyed living in the same home for 54 years and loved being near family and friends and hosting holiday dinner parties.
She is survived by her brother, John Richard (Zona) Reynolds, of Taylorville, and sister Jane Acres of Springfield, Il. She leaves behind four sons, Clark Reynolds Pearce of Taylorville, Jay C. Pearce of Taylorville, Clyde Nelson Pearce II of Rochester, and Charles Edwin Pearce of Thailand; five nephews, one niece and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Janna Carol Pearce.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 1:00 PM followed with burial in Owaneco Cemetery.
Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
