Marilyn L. Christopher

Ms. Marilyn L. Christopher, 70, of Edinburg, Ill. passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Oakland, Calif. on January 8, 1945, the daughter of Louis "Sal" and Nina L. (Dees) Bernardini.

Marilyn had worked at the State of Illinois. She was the first person to use a fax machine on behalf of the State. Ms. Christopher had delivered newspapers for the State Journal Register for over 15 years and in her younger years, owned and operated the Village Inn in Edinburg (now Jan's Place).

Surviving are one son, Arron (Amy) Christopher of Taylorville, Ill., one daughter, Nina (Michael) Christopher-Ayers of Edinburg, three sisters: Diana Nichols, Clara Cary and Janice Bernardini along with five grandchildren: Hadlee Christopher, Christopher Maltby, Steven Maltby, Angie Ayers and Emerald Ayers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Georgianna Heisinger.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Shafer Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville. Visitation for Marilyn will be held for one hour before her services at Shafer Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville.

Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
