Marjorie M. "Marge" Shank

Marjorie M. "Marge" Shank, age 87, of Greenville passed away, Friday, October 21, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Illinois. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:15 AM at Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 10 to 11 AM at Young Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Greenville First Christian Church or Helia Healthcare Activities Department.

Marjorie was born July 24, 1929 in Pocahontas to Freeman and Velma Frances (Ethridge) Iberg. She married John C. "Chet" Shank on October 16, 1948 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She is survived by her husband of 68 years John C. "Chet" Shank of Greenville, her sons Steve Shank and his wife Georgia of Greenville and Tom Shank and his wife Cathy of Collinsville, IL, her sister Kathryn "Kate" Wilson and her husband Lloyd of Granite City, IL, and her grandchildren Chloe Shank, Clayton Puricelli (Amy Smick), Jessica Thornton and husband Brett, and Claudia Puricelli. She was preceded in death by two brothers Richard Iberg and Lavelle "Cotton" Iberg.

She grew up in Pocahontas and Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School. She worked for Illinois Power in Greenville for a time, but spent most of her life operating Shank Real Estate and Auction Service with her husband. She was a member of The Greenville First Christian Church
