Marvin L. Green

Marvin Leroy Green, 43 of Litchfield formerly of Sorento passed away at 3:02 PM on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.


He was born on August 16, 1971 at Litchfield the son on James and Rosalie (Harner) Green. He married Michelle Renee Barrett on June 30, 1995 at Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents; Sister, Debra Swett; Nephew, Jeffery Green.


Marvin worked as a machine operator at Georgia Pacific in Mt. Olive. He proudly served as mayor of Sorento for 2 years.


Survivors include: His wife, Michelle R. Green of Litchfield, IL; 2 Daughters, Samantha Green and Brittany Green both of Litchfield, IL; 1 Son, Evan Green of Litchfield, IL; 3 Brothers, James (wife, Donna) Green and Jeff (wife, Leota) Green both of Litchfield, IL and Dale Green of Sorento, IL; Many nieces, nephews, 2 great nieces and 3 great nephews.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Noon at the Sorento Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento. Visitation will be on Friday, October 3 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Sorento Baptist Church.
