Mary Henrietta Martin

Mary Henrietta Martin, 99, of Sorento passed away Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 12:40 AM at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Greenville.

She was born on November 22, 1905 in rural Sorento the daughter of William Russell and Minnie Lucy (Voyles) Vollintine. She married Clyde C. Martin on November 16, 1937 in Hillsboro; he preceded her in death on May 29, 1978. Also preceding her in death were 6 brothers, 2 sisters and a daughter in law, Joyce Martin. Mrs. Martin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sorento, ATA and would have celebrated her 100th birthday on November 22.

Survivors: Son, Charles (wife, Midge) Martin of Springfield, IL; Daughters, Betty (husband, Jim) Kessinger of Greenville, IL, Shirley (husband, Donald Sr.) Worrell of Bethalto, IL and Joan (husband, Jerry) Mollett of Ripon, WI; 10 Grandchildren; 11 Great grandchildren; Brother, Victor (wife, Helen) Vollintine of Litchfield, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Friends may call from Noon-2:00 PM on Saturday, November 19 at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento, with Rev. Elmer L. Fenton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Sorento.

In memory of Mary H. Martin memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Sorento or Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Greenville.
