Mary Wanda Ostrow

Mary Wanda Ostrow, 85, of Taylorville, passed away at 4:02 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at her residence.

Wanda was born October 26, 1936, in Carlinville, the daughter of Elmer Ray and Anna Christina (Friend) Lyons. She married Troy A. Bonnell, Sr., and they later divorced. Wanda then married Stanley J. Ostrow on July 20, 1980, in Momence. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2007.

Wanda spent most of her adulthood as a homemaker, but prior to that was employed as a file clerk at Manteno State Hospital. She was a hard worker and devoted mother. She loved her family, her friends, and her dogs, which she affectionately called her babies.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffrey P. Bonnell; daughter, Debra Ann Boyer; and brothers, Lloyd and James Lyons.

Wanda is survived by her son, Troy A. Bonnell, Jr. of Taylorville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home, 202 W. Franklin Street, Taylorville, IL 62568. The funeral Ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Sr. Rose McKeown officiating.

Graveside rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Momence Cemetery in Momence.
