Max D. Wehrle, age 84 of Mulberry Grove, IL passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his family home. Funeral service will be at Young Funeral Home, Greenville, IL on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 2 pm. Visitation will be at Young Funeral Home Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 4 pm. to 7 pm. Burial in Mulberry Grove Cemetery, Mulberry Grove, IL.
Max was born on May 15, 1932, on the old home farm, to Herbert Milo Wehrle and Louise Miller Wehrle. He married Kay Beesley Wehrle on January 14, 1950, in Mulberry Grove, IL. He is survived by his wife, Kay; Sons: Danny (Connie) Wehrle of Shumway, IL; Timothy R. (Mary) Wehrle of Mulberry Grove, IL; Shawn (Angel) Wehrle of Chandler, OK; Daughters: Linda (Roy) Alton of Centralia, IL; Jill Wehrle of Mulberry Grove, IL; Tasha (Chad) Johnson of Mulberry Grove, IL.; Daughter in law, Karen Wehrle of Mulberry Grove, IL. Step-brother, Louis Steiner of Mulberry Grove, IL, Sisters: Kay (Rex) Harris of Mulberry Grove, IL; Carole (Dr. Harold) Bristow of Greenville, IL; Ann Steiner of Mulberry Grove, IL; Leona Daum-Klenke of Highland, IL.
He is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren, with 2 on the way; and 3 great great grandchildren, with 3 on the way.
Max worked out of Labor Local 622. He worked in construction and was a HOD Carrier/laborer. He also worked for Midwest Commodities, Burlington Railroad and helped Carl Albert farm. He was an avid gardener and had very good gardens. He also enjoyed riding his tractor.
Max was preceded in death by his parents; step mother, Lois Wehrle; son, Lanny ‘Red' Wehrle; infant brother, Clayton Wehrle; step-brothers: Ed Steiner and David Steiner; sister Imogene Graham.
