Michael D. Durbin

Michael D. Durbin, 60, of Taylorville passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 6:05 a.m. at VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville.

He was born May 26, 1951, in Litchfield, the son of David L. and Eunice L. Darrah Durbin Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael Joseph Durbin. Michael served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1972. He had worked at Georgia Pacific Paper Company and also at Peabody Mine #10.

Survivors: Wife, Sherri Durbin of Taylorville, IL; daughter, Kayla Durbin of Taylorville, IL; son, Jared Durbin of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Tommy Foster, Andrew Foster and Erica Cunitz; sisters: Marie (Dale) Nolen and Karen Lybarger, both of Taylorville, IL, Veda (Rob) Johnson of Marshfield, WI, Victoria Coyle of Carterville, IL and Wanda (John) Dimarco of Florence, AZ; brothers: David (Angie) Durbin of Taylorville, IL and Clifford (Merlyn) Durbin of Austin, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday, November 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with Rev. Becky Lembke officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
