Michael Kane

DITTMER, Mo. - Michael Gerald Kane, 55, of Dittmer, Mo., formerly of Taylorville, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born April 28, 1955, in Battle Creek, Mich., the son of Patrick J. and Cecilia (Farrell) Kane. He married Rae Beck on Dec. 18, 1985, in Clayton, Mo.; she preceded him in death on July 11, 2010. Michael worked as a fabricator for GKN Industries.

He is survived by his parents, Patrick and Cecilia Kane of Taylorville; a sister, Kathleen (Lyle) Parks of Taylorville; two brothers, Patrick (Diane) Kane of Morrisonville and Viven Kane of Indianapolis; a stepson, Russ Boukaert; two stepdaughters, Donna Wintergalen and Kim Rayburn; three nieces, Shannon Thomas, Courtney Kane and Katherine Rose; a nephew, Tim Parks; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville. Funeral mass will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville, with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's School.
