Michael R. Baum

Michael R. Baum, 64, of Sorento, passed away at 1:44 a.m. on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at his residence.

Mike was born December 13, 1956 in East St. Louis, the son of Bernard and Helen (Sloat) Baum.  He married Dianne Koniak on August 6, 2007 at the County Line Church in Donnellson. Mike worked the majority of his career as a truck driver for the United States Postal Service.  He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Shelby, riding his Harley, and going to Sturgis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Adam Stevens.

Mike is survived by his wife, Dianne Baum of Sorento; children, Michael Baum, Jacob Baum, Wendy (husband, Kenneth) Polley, and Michael Cox; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; step-children, Amy Adams, J.D. Adams, Saleena Adams, Daniel Adams, and Samantha (husband, Kramer) Burbridge; 15 step-grandchildren; siblings, William Roy Baum of Ridgeview, Jimmy Baum of Okawville, Elsie “Tudy” McCartney of Troy, and Sandra Stevens of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

Mike will be cremated and no public ceremonies will be held at this time.
