Monica F. Grant, 93, of Taylorville, passed away at 3:12 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
Monica was born June 13, 1928 in Stonington, the last surviving child of 13 children to the late Charles Thomas and Mary Bertha (Sims) Clark. She married George T. Fromm on September 10, 1946. To that union two children were born, Monica and Michael. George preceded her in death on January 9, 1980. She then married William Thomas Grant, Sr. on October 10, 1981. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2001.
Monica worked for over 30 years as a teller for the First National Bank of Pana. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was active in the Catholic Daughters of America. Monica was also a member of the Taylorville Garden Club and Christian County Lady Landowners. In her free time, Monica enjoyed flower gardening.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael D. Fromm; step-sons, William Grant, Jr. and Terry Grant; and step-grandson, William Grant III.
Monica is survived by her daughter, Monica (husband, Harry) Richards of Decatur; grandchildren, Amanda Clark, Amy Richards, and Michael D. Fromm, Jr.; 14 great grandchildren; step-son, Brooks Grant of Taylorville; step-grandchildren, Gina Tesio, Shawn Grant, Todd Grant, Heather Bertauski, and Robin Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation & Funeral Mass: The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, April 1, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 108 W. Adams St., Taylorville, IL 62568, with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz as celebrant. The funeral luncheon will follow mass.
Interment will follow the luncheon at 2:00 p.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

My deepest sympathy, Monica, to you and your family, as you remember your mom. What your mom lived through in her life time was incredible, but she always managed to carry a smile in her heart. I will miss her. I will cherish all of the good memories we shared together. RIP Aunt Monica.

Our heartfelt sympathy to Monica and family. Aunt Monica was a fun aunt, my Godmother, and a joy to be around. We shared so many fun times having lunch, getting together during the holidays and for birthdays. She shared flower and garden secrets, along with many bulbs every year. She lived life and loved her family. She will be missed, but just knowing that heaven was filled with joy the day our Lord called her home had to be the best day ever. She is now home with her parents and the 13 siblings are reunited. RIP Aunt Monica until we meet again at Heaven’s gate!
