Nancy Carol Neer, of Highland, Illinois, passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 74, after courageously battling multiple brain tumors throughout her life. Born in Highland, Illinois to Arthur and EmaDean (Donaldson) Worstell, Nancy spent her early childhood in Benton, before her family moved to the Greenville area where she spent most of her life. She then moved to Hillsboro, where she lived for 15 years with her daughter, before settling in Greenville for her remaining years.

She attended Inglis School and Greenville High School before marrying Stephen Neer. Together they had a daughter, Lisa, and although they divorced, they created a life filled with shared joys and cherished moments. After working at Puridee’s Café for a time, she dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home mom, raising her family with love and care.

Her hobbies and interests brought her immense happiness. She loved to play bingo and try her luck at the slot machines. Nancy was always up for a game of cards with family and friends. A woman who treasured the classics, she enjoyed watching Turner Classic Movies and listening to “The Hayride” every Wednesday night. Her passion for spending time with her friends and family as well as vacationing with her daughter, created countless memories that will be forever treasured.

Nancy’s kind spirit, strong will, and caring nature touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her perseverance through life’s challenges was a testament to her strength and courage.

Preceding Nancy are her parents, Arthur and EmaDean; siblings, Teresa Eller, Emily Hulvey, Arthur Worstell, Becky Butler and Chris Maurer.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Eddington of Greenville; grandson, Ryan (Cassie) Eddington of Pocahontas; great grandchildren, Trinity Eddington of Vandalia, Josaline, Rylan and Nolan Eddington of Pocahontas; great-great-grandchild, Mason Eric Lee Eddington of Vandalia; siblings, Dawn (Dana) Adams of Marshall and Michelle (Chad) Daniels of Carlyle. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
