Norina J. Santoro, 82, of Collinsville, Ill., born April 15, 1925, in Panama, Ill., died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Rosewood Care Center, Edwardsville, Ill.
Norina was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill., and the Telephone Pioneers. She worked as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell in St. Louis, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary, nee Suzzi, Santoro; two brothers and two sisters, John Santoro, Satina Marta, Jennie Freiberg and Aramando Santoro; two sisters-in-law, Martha and Bernice Santoro; two brothers-in-law, Peter Marta and Lester Freiberg; a nephew, Robert Santoro; a niece, Loretta Krah; and great-nephews, Michael Dengler and Darrin Krah.
Surviving are her nephews and nieces, Paul (Joanie) Santoro of Edwardsville, Ill., Dennis (Peg) Freiberg of Belleville, Ill., Rosalie (Dennis) Dengler of Belleville, Ill., and Lorraine Wiswell of Lee, S.D.; great-nephews and great-nieces, Michael Santoro, Nicholas Santoro, Gary (Julie) Dengler, Stephanie (Kevin) Battelle, Todd (Angie) Krah, Joelle (Chandler) Ahrens, Amy Freiberg, Sara (Byron) Goodrich, Jeff Wiswell, Peter Wiswell and Michelle Veneklasen; a brother, Julio Santoro of Collinsville, Ill.; and 14 great-great nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to American "Breast" Cancer Society or Heartland Hospice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., and from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill., and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Perfetti Funeral Home, Panama, Ill. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral: A Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Aloysius Ndeanaefo officiating. Following the Mass, a funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Perfetti Funeral Home, Panama, Ill. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Panama, Ill.
