Orville Kirkendoll

Orville Kirkendoll, 78, of Nokomis, died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville, with Pastor Philip Neumann officiating. Burial will be at Maroa Township Cemetery in Maroa.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kirkendoll, a truck driver, was born March 4, 1931, son of the late Roy and Sylvia (Miller) Kirkendoll. He married Donna Jean Bates on Oct. 19, 1977, at Toledo, and she survives.

He leaves sons, John Kirkendoll of Nokomis, Orville Kirkendoll of Pana, Glenn Kirkendoll (companion Nina) of Wisconsin, Jerry Kirkendoll of Colorado, Phillip Kirkendoll (companion Katie) of Taylorville, Tommy (wife Audra) Atteberry of Decatur and Donald Atteberry of Donnellson; daughters, Marilyn Hamilton of Indiana, Elaine (husband Gary) Rauhut of Wisconsin and Becky (husband Bret) Spencer of Owaneco.

Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one sister, Fern Arnold of Mississippi.

Preceding him in death were one son, Tom; and two sisters, Daisy and Violet.
