Orville Ray Griffin, Jr.

ORVILLE RAY GRIFFIN, JR., 75, of Taylorville, passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 11:00 P.M., He was born December 31, 1932 in Taylorville, the son of Orville Ray Griffin, Sr., and Minnie Marie Stephens. He married Ina Marie Brown on August 16, 1958 in Taylorville. Orville was retired Papermaker from Georgia Pacific. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Taylorville. Ansar Shrine, Ansar Chanters, Ansar Retirees, and Eastern Star, and VFW. 

Surviving are his wife Ina of Taylorville, Son, Jim (wife Elaine) Brown, Taylorville. Grandchildren: GinA(husband Greg) Myers, Taylorville, Brett EKX!lffi Brown, Taylorville, and List (husband Joe) Weitekamp, Taylorville. Great Grandchildren: Lindsay Weitekamp, Megan Myers, Matthew Myers; Sister: Glenda (husband Frank) Kalka, Taylorville; Niece Tineal (husband Kenny) Fisher, Taylorville and Nephew Dale (wife Monita) Kalka, Taylorville. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 4:00 - 6:00 P.m. at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville. 

Funeral will be Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville with Rev. Phillip Neuman officiating. 

Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, Ill.
