Oscar "Ike" Isaac Pruett

Oscar Isaac "Ike" Pruett, 51, of Carthage, North Carolina, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC. 

He was born September 15, 1957, in Vandalia, the son of Donald and Betty Lansford Pruett. He was raised in Taylorville and graduated from Taylorville High School in 1975. He moved to North Carolina in 1985 where he formerly owned and operated O.P. Plumbing. He was currently working at Kees Appliance. He is remembered as someone who would do anything for anyone. He had a heart of goId and a great sense of humor. He was an avid University of North Carolina basketball fan, enjoyed cooking wonderful food for family and friends, and caring for his dog, Bullet. 

Surviving are is father, Donald Pruett of Aberdeen, NC; sons: Christopher (wife Alicia) Pruett of Norman, 0K , an David (wife Brooke) Pruett of Yukon, OK; grandchildren: William, Aubree and Victoria Pruett of Norman, OK, and Tyler, Sarah, and Vivian Pruett of Yukon, OK; brother, Glenn Pruett of Aberdeen, NC; sisters: Nella (husband Donnie) Vandenbergh of Taylorville, Sherrie Eyman of Aberdeen, NC , and Teena (husband Paul) Boulanger of Jeisyville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Donald "Bud" Pruett, Jr.; and sisters, Linda Kay Pruett and Nancy Jo Pruett. 

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, in Shafer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
