Patricia Joyce Barrett

Patricia J. Barrett, 75, of Hillsboro, formerly of Panama, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Vandalia, IL.

Patty was born February 22, 1942 in Hillsboro, IL, the daughter of Clyde and Mary Jo (Steward) Andres.  She married Edward M. Barrett on December 18, 1961 at the Panama Methodist Church in Panama, IL.  He preceded her in death March 16, 2004.

Patty graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1960, and went on to work as a dental hygienist for many years in Hillsboro, for Dr. Beech.  She also worked beside her husband, as his secretary, for their family business, Ed Barrett’s Sanitation.  Patty was a longtime member of the Panama Methodist Church.  She enjoyed corresponding with pen-pals, and loved any and all dogs.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Patty is survived by her daughter, Kathy “Kat” (husband, Rick) Perry of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Jacob (significant other, Adriana Day) Perry of Vandalia, Steven Perry of Hillsboro, and Terrah Perry of Pocahontas; sister Judy Andres of Hillsboro; and several cousins.

Visitation: The family will receive guests from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 117 Walnut St., Panama, IL 62077.

Funeral Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Panama Methodist Church, 203 Cleveland Ave., Panama, IL 62077, with Pastor Art Garland officiating.

Interment will follow at Panama Union Cemetery.
