Patricia R. Morris, 83, of Greenville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Greenville Nursing and Rehab, peacefully, in her sleep.
Pat was born July 3, 1941, in Queens, New York, the daughter of John George and Delia (Herling) Weippert. She went to Islip High School, in New York. She married Donald J. Dunne, Sr., and had three children Laura (Dunne) Foster, Donald J. Dunne, Jr., and Kelli (Dunne) Jones. They later divorced and she married Frank Morris.
In 1971, she and Frank moved to Hollywood, Florida, where they lived for 40 years. She was a housewife for many of those years, and in 1984, she went back to school and became a unit secretary in Neuro ICU for 20 years. In 2004, she had a major stroke that affected her speech, and she was forced to retire.
Retirement was spent enjoying time with her children and grandchildren.
She loved to crotchet and read James Patterson books, as well as many other authors. In 2010, she moved to Sorento, Illinois, where she lived for a few years, before moving to Caseyville, Illinois, and then finally to Greenville, Illinois, where she lived with her daughter Kelli and Sean Jones, prior to his passing. After having another stroke, she then entered Greenville Nursing and Rehab in 2018, where she gained many friends over the last six years. She loved all the activities, like bingo, and fun things they did, but still loved her crafts and reading the best.
Preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Pat will be cremated, and the family will have a gathering at a future date.
The family has entrusted Assalley-Young Funeral Home in Greenville with the
ceremonies.
