Paul Day

Paul Frederick Day, 86, of Taylorville, passed away at 3:55pm April 13, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born October 27, 1922 in Taylorville, the son of the late Frederick and Lela (Hamel) Day. He married Goldie Kimble March 26, 1946 in Taylorville. He worked for the City of Taylorville at Oak Hill Cemetery for 43 years serving as sexton for the last 16 years of his employment, before retiring in 1985.

He is survived by his step son: Ed Kimble of Taylorville, step daughters: Elena Gifford and Vella Kimble both of Taylorville, many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral services will be held Friday April 17, 2009 at 11:00am at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville with Pastor Bob Spurgin officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 6-8pm in the funeral home.
