Philip Ray Cearlock

Philip Ray Cearlock, 65, of Hillsboro, formerly of Taylorville, passed away at 7:14 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Philip was born November 27, 1954 in Taylorville, the son of Eugene F. and Twila Mae (Greer) Cearlock. He graduated from Taylorville High School, and went on to work for May Township for over 25 years. Philip enjoyed leatherwork in his free time.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Harold Cearlock.
Philip is survived by his sisters, Marcia Hengst-Carrell of Taylorville, and Cathy Murrey of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Philip will be cremated, and no public ceremonies will be held.
The family has entrusted Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home, 202 W. Franklin Street, Taylorville, IL 62568 with arrangements.

I met Philip when my mother was in rehab at Hillsboro Rehab and Health Care. and was saddened to hear of his passing. I was so impressed by his kindness to all. He was such a gentle soul and will be missed.
