Ralph Jordan Wefenstette

Ralph Jordan Wefenstette, 88, of Auburn, formerly of the Farmersville and Morrisonville area, died at 7:05 a.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral services for Mr. Wefenstette will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville with the Rev. Ken Dees officiating. Burial will be at Morrisonville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville.
Mr. Wefenstette was born on May 29, 1921, in rural Harvel, the son of the late Roy Earl and Lula Irene (Jordan) Wefenstette. He married Katherine Elizabeth Sharp on Nov. 28, 1953, at the United Methodist Church in Pawnee and she preceded him in death.
He was a lifelong farmer in the Farmersville and Morrisonville areas before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville, Christian County Farm Bureau, Morrisonville Masonic Lodge 681 and attended the University of Illinois for two years.
Mr. Wefenstette is survived by a daughter, Sandy (husband Greg) Thornton of Chatham; five grandchildren; a sister, Dottie Dunkirk of Auburn; a son-in-law, Todd Hill of Springfield; one niece and one nephew.
A daughter, Sylvia Hill, preceded him in death.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville.
