Rebecca Ann Vohlken-Hunsell, 64, of Bluford, formerly of Greenville, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at her home.

Becky was born August 24, 1958, in Highland, the daughter of Alvin and Hazel (Wilson) Vohlken.  She was united with Ted A. Hunsell on July 10, 1976, and they have enjoyed nearly 47 years of marriage.

Becky graduated from Vandalia High School with the Class of 1976.  She was most recently employed as a cook for the Bond County Senior Center in Greenville.  Becky was a patient, caring, and forgiving person.  She was also an extraordinary cook, especially her fried chicken, rabbit, squirrel, and homemade noodles.  Becky was an avid morel hunter, and she loved to fish.  She had a green thumb and was a prolific flower and vegetable gardener.  Canning was one of her favorite pastimes.  Becky’s thumb was so green that her kids won state at 4H with the vegetables she grew.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jessica Dawn Hunsell; and her father, Alvin Vohlken.

Becky is survived by her husband, Ted A. Hunsell of Bluford; mother, Hazel Vohlken of Greenville; children, Jason (Tammy) Vohlken of Enville, TN, Amy Vohlken of Mt. Vernon, Laura (Kyle) Vohlken-Cates of Mt. Vernon, and Christopher (Franki Bonner) Vohlken of Bluford; grandchildren, Ryan Vohlken, Matthew (Breann) Wilkerson, Katelynn (Brendan) Lenhardt, Sarah (Ben) Skalski, Jack Skalski, Willow Cates, Violet Cates, and Audrey Vohlken; great grandson, Boone Wilkerson; siblings, Karen (Tom) Vohlken of Panama, Calvin Vohlken of Greenville, Melvin (Bill) Vohlken of Vandalia, and Tricia (Jim) Jenner of Greenville; aunt, Vera Vohlken; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: the family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Assalley-Young Funeral Home, 118 E. College Ave, Greenville, IL 62246.  The funeral ceremony will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Lyndell Decker officiating.

Interment will follow at German Cemetery in Smithboro.
