Richard D. Thompson Sr

Richard D. Thompson Sr., 56 of Taylorville passed away Monday, March 12, 2007 at 12: 15 PM at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital in Taylorville.

He was born July 25, 1950 the son of David S. and Jane (Martin) Thompson. He married Karen Smith in 1981 in Taylorville. Preceding him in death were his parents and 2 brothers, William and Martin Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was warehouse manager for Jensen’s Home Furnishings in Taylorville and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors: Wife, Karen Thompson of Taylorville, IL; Daughter, Jody Sexton of Taylorville, IL; Sons, Richard D. (wife, Kim) Thompson Jr. of North Dakota, Roger D. (wife, Ann) Thompson of Tennessee and Raymond D. Thompson of Taylorville, IL; 8 Grandchildren; Sister, Lois Peterson of Athens, IL; Brother, David (wife, Judy) Thompson of Boston, Massachusetts; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 15 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Horne in Morrisonville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 11:00 AM at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Horne with  Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Morrisonville Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Richard D. Thompson Jr., Roger D. Thompson, Raymond D. Thompson, Sam Ellinger, Tony Ellinger and Robert Shanks.
