Richard "Dick" Norris

Richard Lyle “Dick” Norris, 84, of Morrisonville, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 5:58 a.m. at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

He was born Aug. 18, 1926 in Taylorville, the son of Richard E. and Edith M. (Baird) Norris. He married F. Louise Howard on Jan. 8, 1947 at St. Maurice Rectory in Morrisonville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eldon Eugene Norris. 

Dick worked as a fertilizer sales manager be fore his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Maurice Catholic Church and Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 731. He was a veteran of the Army.

He is survived by his wife, F. Louise Norris of Poulsbo, Wash., formerly of Morrisonville, Ill.; five daughters and six sons; 32 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Dick requested his body be donated to SIU School of Medicine for medical research. Private family services will be held at a later date.
