Robert A. Helmkamp
September 27, 1944 ~ March 18, 2012
Bob was born in Alton, Illinois to Paul and Verona (Plegge) Helmkamp. He married Kay Wasem on March 19, 1977 in Greenville, Illinois. She survives as does a daughter Deb (Kevin) Phalen. He is also survived by a brother Richard Helmkamp and a sister Elaine Peonitski and two grandsons. Bob grew up in Moro, IL and graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1962. He was co-owner of Helmkamp Implement Dealership until 1989. After selling the implement dealership he sold insurance for Prudential and then opened and operated Helmkamp Financial Serices in Greenville until recently. He served on the Greenville City Council for eight years and was also a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
