Robert Blount

Robert “Bob” Blount, 83, of Morrisonville, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24 at his home.

He was born August 21, 1917 at Edinburg, the son of James C. and Anna M. Johnson Blount. He was a lifelong resident of the Morrisonville area. He married Goldie Crowl in 1938 and she preced­ed him in death June 11, 1975. On August 21, 1976 he married Darlene Hill in the Hillsboro Methodist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #681, was a former Christian County Board Member, former Christian County Farm Bureau board member, for­mer board member of the Morrisonville Elevator and former board member of the 1st State Bank of Morrisonville. He also was a member of the Morrisonville United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene; a son, Dale Blount of San Francisco, CA; one brother. James Blount of Pana; two sisters. Leota Yard of Springfield and Helen Brown of Raymond and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. first Wife, Goldie in 1975, two brothers, George and Russell Blount.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28 at the Moffitt Funeral Home, Morrisonville and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27 in the funeral home. Masonic rites Will be held at 7 p.m.
