Robert Dean Oldham

Robert Dean Oldham, 79, of Taylorville, passed away at 1 :34 A.M. on 5-3-07 at Taylorville Care Center, Taylorville, Illinois. He was born 12-23-1927 in Taylorville, the son of Herman L. and Maude S. Springgate Oldham. He married Dolores "Dodie" Dycus in 1950 and she passed away 11-1-84. He then married Betty D. (Drake) Izatt on 11-25-2000 in Taylorville. He was retired from Christian County Title Co. 

Bob was a Life Member/Founding Member of Taylorville Riffle & Pistol Club, Life Member of National Rifle Assoc. and a Member of American Legion, Taylorville. Past Taylorville Volunteer Firefighter, past member Taylorville Rescue Squad, past coordinator Taylorville Emergency Service & Disaster Agency, past coordinator Christian County E.S.D.A., Taylorville Township Trustee, Taylorville Sanitary District Trustee. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. 

Bob is survived by his wife Betty, of Taylorville, Daughters -Rebecca J. (David) Reed, Edinburg, and Diane L. (Bitsy) Oldham, Taylorville. Sons - David M. Oldham, Taylorville, and Douglas L. (Dana) Oldham, Taylorville, One Step Grandson Michael Izatt (Kirsten) of Wheaton Illinois Grandchildren - Beth (Ben) Toberman, Taylorville, Keri Oldham, Taylorville, and Tim Oldham, Springfield, Two Step­ Grandchildren, Shelley Izatt and Matthew both of Wheaton Illinois. Sister, Ruth Baker of Cincinnati, OH. 2 Great Grandchildren. Nieces & Nephews. 

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 6, 2007 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville, Ill. 

Funeral Service will be on Monday, May 7, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, Taylorville, at 10:00 AM. With Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. 
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, Ill.
