Robert Eugene Hancock

Robert Eugene Hancock, Sr., 57, of Fillmore, died at 5:32 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at his home.

Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, Fillmore, the Rev. Myron Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Friends may call Thursday at the church for one hour prior to the service. Perfetti Funeral Home, Sorento, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hancock was born Feb. 10, 1950, at Litchfield, son of the late Ross and Valeria (Plunkett) Hancock. He was employed at International Filter before his retirement.

He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Fillmore and served as deacon. He also was active with the Rendezvous Muzzleloaders Club.

Mr. Hancock married Leota L. Burris on July 22, 1969, at the Donnellson Presbyterian Church, and she survives.

He leaves one son, Robert E. (wife Amy) Hancock, Jr. of Walshville; two grandchildren, Katie and Rheese Hancock; four brothers, Ronald (wife Cathy) Hancock of Coffeen, Russ (wife Denise) Hancock of Clifton, TN, Ross D. (wife Susan) Hancock of Fillmore, and Ray Nelson Hancock of Taylor Springs; and three sisters, Ronita (husband William) Rufus of Hillsboro, Susan (husband Melvin Jr.) Friesland of Taylor Springs, and Robin (husband Jesse) Boyd of Waynesboro, TN.

Memorials are suggested to the Grace Fellowship Church.
