Robert Wall

Robert Lee Wall, 88, of Vandalia, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at 1:29 p.m. in his home.
Visitation will be Friday, March 26, from 5-8 p.m. at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 27, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Pete Leduc officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, Sorento.
Mr. Wall was born July 16, 1921, at Old Ripley, the son of Harry E. and Maude (Nance) Wall. He married Daphne Jeannette Crouch on Nov. 30, 1946 in Greenville, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 2008.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II, and a lifelong farmer. He collected and restored Oliver tractors.
He is survived by a daughter, Rose (husband Gene) Hoover of Brownstown; three sons, Robert “Sonny” (wife Virginia) Wall Jr. of Moweaqua, Jerry Wall of Vandalia, and Jim (wife Mary) Wall of Vandalia; brothers Harry (wife Doris) Wall of Litchfield, and Louie (wife Sandra) Wall of Greenville; sisters Robertta (husband Walt) Mayer of High Ridge, MO, Evelyn Holcmann of Highland, and Elenora Krekel of San Bernardino, CA; 10 grandchildren, one stepgrandchild, eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Tuffy.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Wall, Donald Wall, and Eldon Wall, and a sister, Marie Lammert.
Memorials may be given to Sunnyside Cemetery, Fayette County Hospice, or the Sorento Area Food Pantry.
