Ronald Ray Leneave, 54, of Sorento, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at his home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento followed by burial there at Sunnyside Cemetery. The Rev. Lynn Brown and the Rev. Gary Shaw will officiate. Friends may call Sunday at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Leneave was born Feb. 5, 1953, in Cadiz, KY, son of Viola Geraldine (Wallace) Leneave and the late Bobby Ray Leneave. He was a truck driver for Frueh Transportation Inc. of Greenville and had been a Shoal Creek Volunteer Firefighter for 35 years.

He also was a former trustee for the Village of Sorento, member of Masonic Lodge 861, Neighborhood Watch coordinator, former board member of Bond County 911, committee member for Sunnyside Cemetery Association and a deacon at the Reno Baptist Church.

Mr. Leneave married Sheryl Diane Young on Sept. 29, 1972, at Williamson, and she survives.

He also leaves two daughters, Mandy (husband Fred) Krummel of Donnellson and Julie (companion Jason Joiner) Leneave of Sorento; five grandchildren, Ronni Rae, Justine, Kamryn, Allie and Sophie; his mother, Geraldine Rapien of Sorento; three brothers, Rickey Leneave and Tony Rapien of Sorento and Joey Rapien of New Douglas; and four sisters, Rhonda Woods of Gillespie, Robin Notter of White City, Nancy Hill of Nokomis and Felicia Havens of Sorento.

A sister, Diane, preceded him in death in infancy.

The family suggests memorials to Reno Baptist Church, Shoal Creek Volunteer Firefighters or Sunnyside Cemetery Association.
