Rose Marie Emerson

Rose Marie Emerson, 74, of Taylorville died at 6:23 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2004, in her home.

She was born November 4, 1929, in Taylorville, the daughter of Bert and Jessie Mae (Hancock) Jackson. She married Jacob “Bill” Emerson on September 4, 1947, in Christian County. She was a CNA and a homemaker. She was a member of the Moose Club.

Surviving are her daughters: Kathy Emerson, Connie (husband Clyde) Westbrook and Janet Emerson, all of Taylorville; sons: Ron (wife Rhonda) Emerson of Assumption, Larry (wife Susan) Emerson of Morrisonville, Randy (wife Debbie) Emerson of Taylorville and Richard Campbell,  all of Taylorville; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jean Brayford of Henderson, NV, and Pauline Funderburk of Athens; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Emerson of Palmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Billy Emerson; sister, Peggy; and brothers: Bert and Leroy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, in Shafer Funeral Home, with Rev. Francis Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Fraley Cemetery.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
