Ruby L. Mills

Ruby L. Mills, 52 of Taylorville passed away at 12:25 AM on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville.

She was born on July 20, 1963 at Aurora the daughter of Wayne L. and Ruth L. (Wiltermood) Dortch. She was preceded in death by her father on September 15, 2014; Step Son, Willie Alberts in March 2008.

Ruby worked as manager at Discount Tobacco for several years.

Survivors: Son, Leslie (Paula) Brun of Shelbyville, IL; Grandchildren, Journey, Hammons, Kaden, Ian and Austin Sabattini; Mother, Ruth Dortch of Litchfield, IL; Sisters, Rosemary (Wayne) Staten of Gillespie, IL and Cindy (Kevin) Mably of Pleasant Plains, IL; Nieces and nephews, Angie Staten, Jesse Mably and Justin Mably; Extended family, Terra Mills, Ethan Alberts and Michael Alberts.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Taylorville Moose Lodge, fried chicken and pulled pork will be provided. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to bring a cover dish.

Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
