S.B. Edwards

S. B. EDWARDS, 82, of Taylorville, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. at his residence. He was born March 9, 1925 in Donnellson, Illinois, the son of Lloyd 0. Edwards and Ethel M. Rench Crowell He married Carolyn E. Senn, May 31, 194 7 in Mayfield, Ky. He was a Salesman. He was a member of the Litchfield Elks, Presbyterian Church in Taylorville of which he was a past Elder and Deacon, and former member of Taylorville Country Club. He served with the United States Navy from 1943 - 1946. 

Surviving are his daughters: Sheri (Charles) Reith, Rochester, Ill., Jan (Terry) Wolf of Homer, II., Diane Edwards ofOakhurst, Cal., Edie (Bruce) Jones of Taylorville, and Sandra (Jeff) Carl of Visalia, Ca. One son, Steven (Marjorie) Edwards of Wheaton, II. Grandchildren: Erin (Josh) Brown ofCoarsegold, Ca., Trent Wolf of Florida, Kim (Jason) Todd of Glen Carbon, II., Morgan Watson of Taylorville., and Tristan Carl of Visalia, Ca. Brother: Jack (Arlene) Crowell, of Florida 3 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. 

Mr. Edwards enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, playing cards and traveling with his family in their motor home. His quick wit and sense of humor entertained friends and family alike. The Edwards family would like to honor his appreciation for his Christ and Savior by asking in lieu of flowers, that memorial gifts be given to First Presbyterian Church of Taylorville, 116 E. Franklin, Taylorville; Memorial Hospice Care, 100 W. Franklin, Taylorville, Ill., or a foundation of the giver's choice. 

Visitation will be held Saturday, December '15, 2007 from 9:00 - 11 :00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Taylorville, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service with Rev. Robert Spurgin officiating. Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
