Scott “Grinder” Anthony, 59, of Taylorville, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville.
Scott was born July 21, 1958 in Denver, CO. He was raised in the Austin, TX and Ft. Smith, AR area with his two brothers. Scott proudly served his country in the United States Army, and then went on to work at Precision Products in Springfield, IL, as well as several local grain elevators. He enjoyed bicycling and traveling all over the country.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Scott is survived by his companion of 29 years, Barbara Friesland of Taylorville; Barbara’s children, James Jonas of Taylorville, Christina (husband, John) Waterman of Taylorville, Paul (wife, Jill) Jonas of Effingham, and Claude (wife, Tracey) Friesland, Jr. of Pennsylvania; Barbara’s thirteen grandchildren; and several friends and extended family.
Visitation: The family will receive guests from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home, 202 W. Franklin St., Taylorville, IL 62568.
Cremation will follow the visitation.
