Shannon B. Kirkpatrick

Shannon B. Kirkpatrick, 79, of Palmer passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Prairie Rose Health Care Center in Pana.

Shannon was born on January 21, 1946, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the daughter of Corville and Margaret (Hall) Guertin.

Shannon obtained her master’s degree in education from Marshall University, and she was a schoolteacher in Georgia for over 15 years. She loved all animals but had a strong love for her horses. Shannon often supported many different charities for animals, locally and all over the country. She was known to be a homebody, stubborn at times, but mostly was a very kindhearted woman.

Shannon is survived by her sister, Carolyn Locke of New Hampshire, and close friend Kristy Olinger of Nokomis. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Per Shannon’s wishes, cremation rites are to be accorded, with no services at this time. Memorials in Shannon’s memory can be made to the Chrisitan County Animal Control – 300 South Baughman Rd Taylorville, Illinois 62568.
