Thomas Henry Miller, 84, of Sorento, IL, passed away at 3:57 a.m. Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Tom was born on September 27, 1934 in Lebanon, MO, to John and Rebecca (Patchett) Miller. He married Jessie E. Neathery on March 14, 1954 at the United Methodist Church in Sorento.

A graduate of Greenville High School, in his yearbook, he was noted as one of the “worst gigglers” of the class of ‘52.  His love for laughter was infectious. Tom was a devout Christian, who was a strong supporter of his church and committed much of his time to teaching and supporting children’s programs. He loved all that nature has to offer and was passionate about his farming business. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, playing golf, and he was always ready for a game of cards or a cherry pie.  He was a long-time member of the Sorento Baptist Church and Leesburg Baptist Church, in Leesburg, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Clovis and Jimmy Giovanetto; and two sisters, Vera Bennett and Juanita Smith.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jessie; his three daughters, Marsha Ann Miller of Louisville, KY, Melinda Sue (husband, Albert) Duffel of Sour Lake, TX, and Theresa Kay (husband, Sev) Keil of Vienna, AT; his five grandchildren, James Miller, Sonya Leppo, Natasha Miller, Megan Butler, and Sev Keil; his two great-grandchildren, Mira Leppo and Monroe Butler; and his brother, Marvin (wife, Henrietta) Miller of Panama, IL. Tom was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to everyone.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: The family will receive guests from 12:00 p.m. until the time of ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 201 S. Main St., Sorento, IL 62086 with Pastor Oley Lawson officiating.

Interment will follow the ceremony at Kirkland Cemetery in Sorento, IL.
