Funeral services for Thomas Paul "Tom" Wells, 81, of Morrisonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Perfetti Funeral Home, Morrisonville, the Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow at Morrisonville Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721 of Morrisonville.

Family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Wells, an Army veteran of the Korean War, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at his home.

He was born April 15, 1928, at Morrisonville, son of the late Reasoner and Lela (Cook) Wells. He farmed and traveled the area selling produce. He was a member of the Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721 and St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in Springfield. He was an avid Cardinal fan.

Mr. Wells married Ann Gallucci on April 28, 1956, at Chicago.

He leaves two sons, Wes (wife Pam) Wells and Matt (wife Debbie) Wells of Morrisonville; five daughters, Theresa "Terry" (husband Tim) Blanchong of Toledo, OH, Martha (husband John) Sharp of Hillsboro, Pat (husband Jim) Planek of Sherwood, AR, Nancy (husband David) Peat of Paw Paw, and Angie (husband Liam) McDonnell of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Wilbur (wife Edie) Wells of San Antonio, TX, Truman (wife Dorothy) Wells of Petersburg and Donald Wells of Morrisonville; and one sister, Bessie Noyes of Morrisonville.

Preceding him in death were one son, William "Billy" Wells; and three brothers, James K. Wells, John D. Wells and Lawrence D. Wells.
