Thomas W. Reed

Thomas W. Reed, 68, of Taylorville, died September 9, 2011 at 1:20 P.M. at the Danville Veterans Home. 

He was born on February 23, 1943, in Decatur, IL, to Charles E. Sr. and Vivian Ping Reed. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He also was a member of the V.F.W. and was a Mason. Tom worked at Macon Metal and owned Winfield Machinery. He later owned and operated the Rendezvous Tavern, Taylorville. 

Surviving are his brother, Charles Edward Reed, Jr., of Tenessee; Sisters, Sharon Stackpole and Judith Carr, both of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Larry and John and one sister, Lana; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Friday, September 16, 2011 from 5:00P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville with Dr. Ellen Moma officiating. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound, Il with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard.
