Vicky Lynn Furness, 51, of Morrisonville died at 7:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at her home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the church with the Rev. Dayle Badman officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded following services, and inurnment will be at a later date in Morrisonville Cemetery. The family requests casual attire be worn for the funeral. Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Furness was born in Taylorville on May 6, 1961, the daughter of James M. and Carol L. (Smith) Stewart. She married Craig M. Furness at the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville on Dec. 30, 1988, and he survives in Morrisonville.
She was the third generation owner and operator of Stewart’s Market in Morrisonville. She was a member of the Morrisonville Kiwanis, past president of the Morrisonville Community Club and on the board of directors, Key Club advisor whose presence she helped retain in Morrisonville, and she served the Morrisonville Community Club as coordinator of the Morrisonville Community Queen Pageant for 25 years. She was also instrumental in the addition of street lights in Morrisonville.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Furness is survived by daughters, Danielle Elizabeth Furness of Taylorville and Shelby Nicole Furness of Morrisonville; her parents of Morrisonville; brother, Greg (wife Luanne) Stewart of Morrisonville; mother-in-law, Sharon Ulrici of Hillsboro; and grandmother, Mary Smith of Taylorville.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Myrvle and Nellie Smith and Melvin and Elizabeth Stewart; father-in-law, Wayne Furness; stepfather-in-law, Arthur Ulrici; and brother-in-law, Steve Furness.
