Virginia Cruthis

Virginia Ruth Curtis, 88, of Taylorville passed away Friday June 5th at 8:15 pm at the Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville. She was born May 8th 1921 in Taylorville, the daughter of Shirley Rae and Mary Ethel (Barbre) Pettus. She married James William Curtis on May 5th 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville; he preceded her in deat hof February 21, 1982. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brother, Thomas Pettus, sister Thelma Vigneri, and a grandson, William R. Everett.

She is survived by daughters, Christine D. Roger Everett of Taylorville, and Mary Ann Curtis of Normal; Sons, David T. Curtis of Brother James Court, Springfield, and William G. (Lee) Curtis of Maryville, Grandchildren, Roger C. Everett, Liza K. Everett, Douglas D. Everett, Jeffrey D. Risberg, Christopher P. Risberg, Joseph M. Sulzberger, James C. Curtis, and Zachary Curtis; 4 great grandchildren, 4 nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be held Monday, June 8th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
